Brush Smart, Save Money

Are you wasting money every time you brush? No, I am not suggesting you don't benefit from brushing your teeth 2 times a day, but I am guessing you use 2-3 times MORE toothpaste than you need. There are diminishing returns when it comes to the amount of toothpaste you use. The excess toothpaste will most likely be rinsed down the drain with no added benefit to you! So how much should you use?

The ADA recommends children over the age of 3 the use of a pea size amount of toothpaste each time they brush. We recommend the same amounts for adults as well. Many tooth brushes have different colored bristles that indicate the approximate size for the toothpaste.

Pea Sized Amount of Toothpaste

For Children under the age of 3, the ADA recommend using a "smear" of toothpaste, which should cover a few of the colored bristles on your child's toothbrush.

Save money on toothpaste by not using more than you need. Using the recommended amount, a sample size toothpaste (0.85 oz) should last you well over a month!
