Dr. Kumfer's Kitchen: Turkey Chili


While spring feels like it is here, there may still be a few more cool nights ahead of us. That’s why on this edition of Dr. Kumfer’s Kitchen I will talk about the wonderful world of Chili! Chili is my favorite, it has everything you need: a delicate balance of carbs and protein, flavor, it warms you up, and it’s easy to make. I usually end up making this all year because it is easy and I can chase a toddler around while I am cooking it.

What You Need

  1. Food

  2. 1 Pound Ground Turkey

  3. 1 Green Bell Pepper

  4. 1 Yellow Onion

  5. 2 Cans Diced Tomatoes

  6. 1 Can Black Beans

  7. ¼ cup Frank’s Red Hot

  8. 2 TBSP Chili Powder

  9. Cutting Board

  10. Large Pot

What You Do

  1. Add Chili Powder to Ground Turkey in a Large Pot and begin to cook on Medium heat.

  2. Dice Pepper and onion and add to the cooking Turkey.

  3. When the Pepper and Onion add Tomatoes, Black Beans and Frank’s Red Hot

  4. Bring mixture to a boil and reduce heat, cooking for 15-20 minutes until peppers and onion are soft.

  5. Remove and allow to cool before serving.
