Dr. Kumfer's Kitchen: Turkey Chili

It’s getting to get cold outside, so it’s the perfect time of year to get Chili inside! Nothing warms you up quicker than a warm bowl of chunky chili. While my Chili has never won any awards (I haven’t entered in any contests either), it is definitely the easiest, healthiest and tastiest dish I know how to make…am I overselling it? You will have to be the judge, however if you try it and agree you have to tell me so in comments below.

What you need:

  1. Food

  2. 1 lb Ground Turkey

  3. 1 Green Pepper

  4. 1 Yellow Onion

  5. 2 Cans Petite Diced Tomatoes

  6. 2 Jalapeno Peppers (Optional)*

  7. ¼ Cup Franks Red Hot

  8. 2 TBS Chili Pepper

  9. Large Pot

  10. Cutting Board

*If you don’t like spicy foods, leave out the Jalapeno. If you like it really hot add 2 Habaneros. If you want to sweat while you eat, add 2 ghost chili’s.

What you do:

  1. Brown the Ground Turkey in large pot.

  2. While the turkey is browning, dice the peppers and onions.

  3. Add Onions, Peppers, and remaining ingredients to the Turkey and stir.

  4. Cook on medium heat for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally until the peppers are softened.

  5. Take off from heat and add to bowls or cups.

  6. Allow to cool before eating as it will be hot!
